Styling Your Kitchen with Beautiful Coffee Makers and Accessories

March 22, 2023

My morning ritual always starts with coffee and sometime after lunch I’m usually back for my afternoon dose of caffeine. We enjoy good coffee and have tried every type of coffee brewing method, eventually landing on a few tried and true methods along with coffee makers that have lasted most of our marriage. Our coffee bar is always in view so whenever I make an addition I’m sure that it’s not only high quality – but also beautiful! Read on for all of the different brewing methods we’ve tried plus lots of links to some of my favorite coffee makers and accessories.

single serve

A single serve pour over is one of my favorite ways to brew coffee. I like that you can make as small or as big of a cup as you want, and with freshly ground beans it’s hard to beat. Ty’s favorite way to brew coffee is with an AeroPress which is similar to French Press coffee without the grit and a lower acidity.

french press

Every morning I make a full French Press. We’ve been brewing our coffee this way for 10+ years and it’s still one of my favorites. I love the richness and full flavor that comes from this brewing method. If I had to choose just one way to drink coffee, this would be it!

pour over

This is a coffee purists preferred way to brew coffee as you can control the water temperature and the speed at which the coffee brews. Personally, I just watch the water temperature and take my time pouring, and it’s still usually one of the best cups of coffee I’ll brew at home.

hot water

We recently purchased a Fellow hot water kettle and it’s been one of my favorite purchases this year. You can set the temperature specifically for your coffee or tea – plus it’s a beautiful addition to my coffee bar. Even if you’re not a coffee enthusiast I think a hot water kettle is a great tool to have in your kitchen.

espresso

Give me a triple soy latte and I am one happy girl. Espresso is what I reach for when I am ready to sit and enjoy slowing sipping a hot coffee. Our Breville is going on 6+ years and is still one of the most used items in our kitchen. I would love to upgrade to the Barista Touch one day – but at the rate our current machine is working, it doesn’t look like that’s going to be anytime soon!

automatic

Full transparency: automatic coffee pots are my least favorite. In my experience they have a short life and are mostly constructed of plastic – which I try to avoid using with hot food or liquid. But the convenience of them can’t be beat with large brewing pots and timers for waking up to already brewed coffee. The one machine I’ve done the most research on and would purchase for myself is the Moccamaster based on it’s construction and happy customer reviews.

cold brew

If you’re a cold coffee lover, stop dropping ice cubes into your strong hot coffee and buy yourself a cold brew maker. Cold brewing coffee creates the most smooth brew by cutting down the acidity down in coffee leaving you with a strong, rich coffee that can’t be beat. Cold brewers are very basic: pour cold water over coffee grounds, let sit overnight – 24 hours, strain and you’re finished. We use the Toddy during the summer. My preferred way of drinking iced coffee: tall glass of ice, cold brew concentrate, a little bit of water and sweetened condensed milk (trust me).

Come with me as I work on giving Cohen’s room a Come with me as I work on giving Cohen’s room a little refresh! He was in need of a nice, flat weave rug (because Legos) and I was really excited to get this Henley rug by @loloirugs x @joannagaines @magnolia from their latest collab. I have these rugs all over my house because I seriously love them and they wear so well! More to come on this little room of his.

Uncover the back patio with me! After days of rain Uncover the back patio with me! After days of rain it’s time to let the furniture breathe a bit and open everything up to the sun. With part of our patio being pea gravel, the easiest way to get loose stones back where they belong is with our leaf blower - we recently topped it off with more gravel so it’s looking extra plush lately. You will find me here tonight pretending that it’s already the weekend 🥂
