Take a peek into my closet for this spring and summer! It has been so refreshing to store my winter coats & sweaters and replace them with airy cotton dresses, easy-to-wear tops and flats & sandals that can transition from day to night. While I pulled out a few of my tried and true pieces I wear year after year I was due to refresh my closet a bit for the warmer weather ahead. Here are the main styles and pieces I’m shopping for this season.
terrycloth

Sweatshirts can be too heavy, sweaters don’t alway breath easy in moderate temps – but cotton terry cloth hits that sweet spot. It’s light enough to wear on warmer days and easily transitions to cooler nights, and also makes a great cover up after a swim. I *almost* bought this last spring and regretted the I hadn’t for a full year, so I was extra excited when this Seaquelle terry sweatshirt hit my doorstep. They have a butter yellow set that I’m tempted to order immediately!
new-to-me brand: NA-KD
I hadn’t ever heard of NA-KD until recently and took a chance ordering a few pieces. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality at such affordable prices – plus, everything is 30% off right now! I have worn these leather flats nearly everyday, the yellow top is the perfect buttery color and the poplin blouse is surprisingly flattering. I think I will order a matching poplin skirt or shorts from here to pair with all of the other white tops I’ve been adding to my closet. I’m all about that monochromatic look.

drop waist

I’ve already made my love for drop waist silhouettes known and I will continue to add this style to my closet when I get the chance. I think it’s a nice departure from all things empire waisted or with a ruched bodice, and really elongates your frame (even if you’re short like me!).
poplin & eyelet

I am craving all things crisp cotton and airy eyelet styles this year – I think it feels polished, effortless, and quintessentially summer. It’s so easy to mix and match these pieces that I can always find a reason to add another to my closet. If I had to choose just three, I think they would be: a poplin maxi skirt, poplin halter dress and a statement making eyelet top.
