designing with kids

Loloi launched a new collab with Rifle Paper Co. this week and the girls had the chance to pick a rug for their room from the new collection. One glance at my house and you know this is quite the shock of color – but I love it so much for them! They immediately were pointing out the butterflies and flowers that they liked. It got me thinking about kids’ rooms and how we design them: who remembers their childhood room growing up? Were you confined to decorating it a certain way, or did you have free reign? I remember when I got the chance to choose my own wallpaper for my room and I loved it. Even if our kids’ choices are a bit cringe (to us), isn’t that always a step in the creative process and finding your personal style? My kids are always noticing what I am working on and, in turn, wanting to make more creative decisions on their own. I’m excited to let them take the lead a little more when choosing pieces for their rooms and seeing where it takes them.

The sconces in the dining room are up! Ty finished them up yesterday and I am so happy with how they turned out. I’m very into the modern shape paired with everything else in this room. The corner vignette with the pedestal is my favorite!
budget finds
While searching for new hand towels for our bathrooms, I came across these cutie scalloped trim towels at TJ Maxx. Of course that wasn’t the only thing I ordered. I’m really into cotton and poplin for summer (cannot wait to try on that long sleeve romper) and love the classic quilted pattern of this shoulder bag. I also linked the H&M blue light glasses I shared in stories.
That’s all for this week!
