magnolia blooms
We have a magnolia tree right on the corner of our house that wraps around our porch and over the roof (I barely let Ty trim it) and it is my favorite part of our property. It was one of the reasons I was so excited to buy this house! We live in town but have quite a few mature trees in our yard. It makes fall cleanup quite the chore, but I would never trade our big trees for a sparse lot. They’re finally starting to bud and bloom – but, per usual, Ohio spring is too cold and soon everything will be frostbitten. I had Ty grab me some branches from my favorite tree so I can at least enjoy a few of them while last.

Who remembers this $200 Facebook marketplace find from a few years back? I had bought it with the intention of eventually using it at the “next house” we move to and it’s been sitting in storage. There has yet to be a house pop up that has me itching to move, and while we are still here, why wait to pull this sectional out? The whole thing needs reupholstered but the frame and quality of this sofa is so good. My grandfather’s family owns an upholstery shop up in Toledo where I will have this reupholstered – it will be fun to make this sectional exactly what I want, but it will be even more meaningful to have this worked on by family and the history it will then carry with it.
Our current sofa has really been one of the best purchases I have made for this house and I still get questions on it frequently. It has held up beautifully to our young family and it the comfiest sofa for movie watching.

I grabbed these jeans on a whim at TJ Maxx the other day and am so glad I did. The perfect shade of off-white and not too snug for light denim. I can’t find this exact brand but here are a few that would be my next pick!
I was influenced by my Pinterest fashion inspo to buy these Adidas shoes: they’re a cool take on the Sambas that we’ve been seeing for awhile and can be easily styled with denim, dresses, activewear – you name it. I love a slip-on shoe and these are as comfy as they are cool. They also come in black (wish I could order both colors!).
