The most wonderful time of the year is here and I’m soaking in every moment of it! This year hit me with a lot of change and growth that has me appreciating each season I’m in, rather than always thinking ahead to the next. I decided I would spend less mental energy on “fitting everything in” or making sure my content was timed just right or that my house is carefully decorated. Instead, we got a puppy (hi, Bear!), traveled to see family, the kids decorated the tree, I parted ways with extra decorations and only kept was I love. I didn’t buy a ton of new wrapping supplies but am using mostly what I have leftover from previous years. I focused on making our home inviting for the holidays and how we can create the best memories this year. And it’s been wonderful! The best Christmas season we’ve had in a long time.
One thing I really wanted to prioritize this year was to do an Advent reading or activity with the kids to better focus our attention on the promise of Jesus’ birth. I found this Advent Block Set that has been the biggest hit – it’s a countdown to Christmas, interactive and the stories each day are well-written. For decorations, I’ve been very into the color of the season (red) and added a pop of it in all of our common rooms. I adore the velvet bows I added to our tree. But the one thing I knew I needed was an anglaspel this Christmas. They’re nostalgic and magical all at once. I also purchased a few vintage candlesticks to add to our Christmas morning tablescape along with festive linens. You can still shop everything that I bought this year – most things are on sale and will still arrive in time for Christmas! Everything is linked below along with scenes from around our home this December.

what I’m wearing
I don’t typically have many formal occasions I attend so I always love special outfits for the holidays. This year, I wanted to feel festive yet chic. I’m all about investing in pieces that I will wear again – not just on Christmas. Plus – I think everything is on sale right now!
I hope you’re enjoying this season as much as I am. Happy holidays!
