I was playing around with console styling in the dining room last week & you all loved the combo of this simple squiggle art + vintage piece as much as I did. The plaster canvas was a simple DIY that I added the black lines to awhile later – I linked the process of making the original art below!

I just recently started going through Chris & Julia Marcum’s Good Influence(r) courses to see what I could learn from them in a month or two. Instagram has always been somewhat of an experiment to me, where I don’t have a clear end goal in mind. Going through their courses has been a good challenge for me to better define my what and why. I had to go through the archives to find these photos (Cohen is two years old here) — and was an obvious reminder that I rarely show up on my page anymore. With adding a third baby to our family, new work challenges and projects that don’t wrap up as quickly as they used to, I’ve been less and less motivated to put in the time to the ‘Gram like I used to. These pictures remind me of the days when I put the time in out of a love for doing something creative, working on something that was “my own” and that showing up everyday eventually paid off in big ways. After adjusting to big changes in the last year I’m ready to regain the excitement and focus of faithfully working on what I love (with little kids forever at my feet).

I found this mirror on Facebook Marketplace a few weeks back and gave it the good ol’ Rub n’ Buff treatment. It’s actually a West Elm mirror that they still carry (linked below) but I wasn’t in love with the original gold finish – I mixed two different Rub n’ Buff colors together (Silver Leaf and Antique Gold) to get a brighter, dimensional gold and I’m really happy with how it turned out!

This past weekend Ty and I got away, just the two of us, on a houseboat trip to Dale Hollow with some of our closest family & friends. This annual trip is going almost 30 years strong and it’s a lot of fun to be apart of the tradition. It also had us talking about the next time we will get to travel, which will be for our anniversary this winter. I literally cannot wait!

Enjoy your weekend!
