Friday Focus: October 28

holiday pinning

With each passing year I look forward to the holidays more and more. When I was pregnant with each of our kids (who all have November and December birthdays) I got into the habit of decorating for Christmas in early November to make sure I had everything finished by the time their due date rolled around – plus, I love savoring the Christmas season as much as possible. I have fully become one of those people who decorates my home well before Thanksgiving and love every minute of it. I am headed out of town next week and already have gotten my Christmas decor down to sort through, ordered my wrapping supplies and may have set up the tree to figure out exactly where I want it this year. I have been pinning lots of inspiration and am going to add a little more red, natural elements (pine cones, dried oranges, mixed greenery) and ultra nostalgic items to my decor. I’m excited to be more ahead of schedule this year to share it all with you before Thanksgiving rolls around – so stay tuned!

lately

I am thrilled to have my dining chair cushions finished! I had been wanting to add these to my chairs ever since we bought them 1+ year ago and am so happy with how they turned out. For the details on how I made them you can head to the post below:

Last weekend we closed up this wall once and for all. I personally love a little separation of rooms in a home versus an open concept, so rather than taking out this hodge-podge woodwork in between these two rooms we decided to complete this wall. We designed the panels to match the the original, existing lower panels and I love the way they turned out. It looks as though it’s always been there = goal achieved.

what’s in my shopping cart

I ordered his chaise from Maiden Home back in September and it should finally be arriving in the next two weeks! I am so excited to see it in person. After scouring the internet for chairs to replace the Target roll arm pair I had there, I had the idea of doing something complete different to bridge the gap between the front room and the TV den. I just love the look of a chaise effortlessly styled with a beautiful throw blanket, floor reading lamp + maybe a pillow or two.

I shared this on my stories this week: If you’re not shopping H&M Home, you’re missing out. I ordered the prettiest bedding for our room and have a list of other items I’d love to snag for the upcoming holiday season. Shop a few of my latest favorites:
