Friday Focus: October 14

October 14, 2022

This week was all about art! It’s no secret that I love sourcing and collecting beautiful, meaningful art for myself and others so I shared my best tips on choosing & styling artwork like a designer, plus a Reel with practical rules to follow when hanging your art or frames. Both are linked below!

lately

Last weekend the weather was amazing and the giant spiders came out. These elicit a lot of “looks like you have an infestation problem!” comments from passerby’s, but the kids love them and they’re an easy + tasteful way to decorate for October. A little bit of Halloween goes a long way in my book!

I’ve slowed collected a few vintage items for the shop and they’ll be available to purchase Monday, October 17! Each item has been hand selected by me and is one of a kind. If you’ve ever asked me where I find vintage items or where to buy one for yourself, now is your chance. It’s a limited product drop so be sure not to miss out. holiday planning

Admittedly I’ve been thinking of Christmas for weeks now. I get so excited every time the holiday season rolls around and love to plan out all of my decorations in advance, so when the time is right I can deck the halls all at once. Another thing I usually order about this time are my wrapping supplies — I’m a sucker for beautifully wrapped gifts. I always hunt for beautiful paper and an array of ribbon to make each gift feel extra special.

Another thing I’ve been into lately are more nostalgic items for the holidays and something I would love to get our family this year is a German pyramid. They are so beautiful and mesmerizing to watch. I know my kids would love having this lit during the days leading up to Christmas.

Happy Friday!

Seashells are a quintessential beauty that are worn by living creatures, eventually discarded for us to enjoy or broken down to become one with the earth. They’re a reminder of the beauty of life and how powerful nature can be. And because of that, I think they’re a perfect addition to any room – no matter where you live!

We started planning and renovating this space abou We started planning and renovating this space about two years ago and I have a few takeaways now that we’ve lived with it:
- so glad we fit as much shelving into this space as possible
- storing our microwave in here is 👌
- I toyed with the idea of adding an ice maker in here…kinda wish I would have
- the wallpaper was the best splurge
- removing walls isn’t always the answer (we split a hallway in two to create this space)

You can read all about this project on the blog! Link in bio 🫶
