If you’re new here, two years ago (right at the beginning of the pandemic) we did a budget renovation on our kitchen. I had already painted the cabinets when we moved in and decided to remove some uppers and makeover the wall that holds our sink and range. I wanted to make our small kitchen feel a little more open and bring some character to the room. By adding tile, 5″ shiplap, floating shelves, new lighting and building out the range hood it really did transform this space. You can see all of the before and afters + sources for everything here:

Our spring here in Ohio has been less than pretty: lots of clouds, rain and freezing temps that killed most of the early blooms on our trees and plants. Our magnolia tree out front didn’t get the chance to fully bloom which always makes me a little sad. When the weather is full of overcast and cloudy days, my inspiration and creative energy tends to go way down while I put my head down to work on other things and wait for the gloomy weather to pass. It’s safe to say I need a pick-me-up and fresh burst of energy! I have plants waiting to be potted, projects that need to be documented and shared and spring cleaning to tackle. Really looking ahead to next week as we’ll finally get some nice, warm weather and all of the trees and plants will burst with leaves from all this rain.

We launched the Home Theology Shop a few weeks ago and it’s been such a great experience so far! I am learning a lot about retail, inventory & product creation and I’ve really been enjoying it. We’re about to restock a few favorites this week so be on the lookout!

I go in spurts with buying clothes — anyone else? I recently ordered a whole bunch of pieces from J. Crew during their clearance sale and I amazingly loved every single item. I am starting to really round out my wardrobe with clothes that fit well after having babies and it feels good to not be in limbo with in-between sizes. All of the clothing I’ve been wearing on repeat is linked below, including the $20 Target sandals I can’t get enough of!

This week I ordered a few items from Amazon to style the back yard with in preparation for the warm weather along with some new items to refresh our front porch. The furniture we have out front are still some of my favorite patio pieces 5 years after purchasing them (which are sadly discontinued) — but the rug and cushions have seen better days. We’ll power wash them next week to clean them up – along with the back patio – and I will give a little walk through of our outdoor spaces!

Here’s to warmer days ahead!

XO —

He was in need of a nice, flat weave rug (because Legos) and I was really excited to get this Henley rug by @loloirugs x @joannagaines @magnolia from their latest collab. I have these rugs all over my house because I seriously love them and they wear so well! More to come on this little room of his.

Uncover the back patio with me! After days of rain Uncover the back patio with me! After days of rain it’s time to let the furniture breathe a bit and open everything up to the sun. With part of our patio being pea gravel, the easiest way to get loose stones back where they belong is with our leaf blower - we recently topped it off with more gravel so it’s looking extra plush lately. You will find me here tonight pretending that it’s already the weekend 🥂

A moment for my latest @facebook marketplace find A moment for my latest @facebook marketplace find 🫶 this wrought iron chaise for $50 + new cushion from @walmart is going to my mvp this summer. I rearranged the back patio a bit and I’m loving how it feels. Just a little reminder that it doesn’t take big bucks or an overhaul for something to feel fresh again!
