CANE DINING CHAIRS

Caned chairs have been around for a long while and are a timeless design in my eyes. Mixing materials on a dining chair is one of my favorite looks to keep a utilitarian setting from feeling boring, and the delicate details of cane keep a space from feeling heavy. I think a black frame on cane dining chairs feels like a modern take on this fresh classic, but you also can’t go wrong with a natural or white frame. Shop a roundup of a few of my favorite cane dining chairs below:

LATELY

Last week I was in CT for a few days and it was refreshing to travel again. Getting out of the norm is always inspiring to me and has me hoping there’s more traveling in our future!

I got my Vellabox in the mail for the month and I’m loving the light, tropical scents for summer! I can be picky about scents in our home but I have been so pleasantly surprised that I’ve loved every box that’s sent my way. Try one out — you won’t regret it!

VELLABOX

I recently sampled a bunch of wallpaper for a dining room in a more traditional home that I’m working on, and this was the winner! I love how this paper is relevant to the style of the home while feeling fresh at the same time.

Blue Floral Wallpaper

Now that Caroline is a little older and I’m out of my postpartum clothes I’ve been updating my wardrobe with new pieces that I love, including this dress. The ruffle straps got me! I’m also all for the smocked trend that’s happening lately.

Smocked Gingham Maxi Dress

I like checking in on TJ Maxx and Marshalls new arrivals regularly because you can find some amazing deals on things that you’re probably already shopping for. Here are a few things that caught my eye this week!

Have a great weekend!

This is probably the prettiest room in our house. This is probably the prettiest room in our house. And I *may* or may not sit in here sometimes to hide for a moment of peace 😅

I rearranged the back patio a bit and I’m loving how it feels. Just a little reminder that it doesn’t take big bucks or an overhaul for something to feel fresh again!

There is a beauty and ease that comes with life by There is a beauty and ease that comes with life by the sea, whether it be on northern or southern shores. Seashells are a quintessential beauty that are worn by living creatures, eventually discarded for us to enjoy or broken down to become one with the earth. They’re a reminder of the beauty of life and how powerful nature can be. And because of that, I think they’re a perfect addition to any room – no matter where you live!

We started planning and renovating this space abou We started planning and renovating this space about two years ago and I have a few takeaways now that we’ve lived with it:
- so glad we fit as much shelving into this space as possible
- storing our microwave in here is 👌
- I toyed with the idea of adding an ice maker in here…kinda wish I would have
- the wallpaper was the best splurge
- removing walls isn’t always the answer (we split a hallway in two to create this space)

You can read all about this project on the blog! Link in bio 🫶
