Friday Focus: June 03

I’ve swapped a lot of rugs around our house over the years, but there are just a few that have stood the test of time and have been with us for 6+ years. Rugs are such an important piece to designing a room: they set your base layer & tone for the space while adding texture, pattern and color. I prefer a neutral rug made of high-quality materials in most spaces — they’re the most versatile while lending durability and a bit of luxury underfoot. The rug in our bedroom is a great example of this: this rug has remained a favorite of mine, originally starting down in our living room and since has made its way upstairs. It is a flat woven wool with this great geometric pattern that adds a little bit of oomph to our neutral bedroom.

Using a neutral, geometric patterned rug is a great way to ease into adding a great rug to your space that’s super easy to work with. I linked a few tried and true rugs below that I can confidently say you’ll love!

I love a good salad and now that summer is here I’ve been eating one everyday. This one has been on repeat — the dressing is the perfect, creamy and healthy alternative to a bottled Caesar dressing. For a simple lunch I toss crunchy romaine or kale with this dressing + seasoned breadcrumbs. Trust me — it’s the best!

Tomorrow I will be at the Bluffton Craft Fair helping out in the Linda Renee Pottery booth and selling some of our HT x LRP pottery pieces. We’ll also have coffee and a few other fun things for everyone who comes out. I’ll be there from 9-3p, stop by and say hi!

We live on a mature lot and our landscaping is filling in nicely, but there are still a few spots around our garage and driveway that needed a good amount of plants. Yesterday I happened to stop by Walmart and found a ton of great plants on clearance and I was so excited. I really appreciate beautiful landscaping but it’s taken me a few years to get the hang of what looks nice together, how to layer plants and learning that less variety = more when it comes to landscaping.

what’s in my shopping cart

I didn’t buy much over the weekend of Memorial Day sales but I did grab a few things I’ve had my eye on for awhile –including items from McGee & Co, a large floor mirror and a chartreuse pillow cover. All linked below!
