LATELY

The TV room is really starting to come together for me – I’m loving the colors, patterns, layers and depth that it has now! I would love to add grasscloth to the back of the built ins, because more = more in the case for layering. But what really makes the room come alive is the artwork by Holly Addi… I’m always drawn to abstract artwork and the colors in this piece are literally everything I could want. I imagine this traveling with me from house to house, finding it’s new place in an entryway, over a fireplace or dining room, making it my favorite focal point in any room.

Did you catch this little secretary makeover I shared? I used bleach to lighten the wood and now I want to try this out on every forgotten piece of furniture I see. It was so easy and gave me exactly the result I was going for! You can read the blog post + peep more photos here:

My brother Clay and his new wife Emily got married last week and it was such a beautiful day! Tyler married them, I got to sing with my brother for prelude music, my sister Brianna made their cake and her husband Casey was their photographer. It was fun to work with many of our family members, even if we got rained on a little bit! I’m so excited for them to experience married life and thrilled to have gained another sister.

I linked my dress for the wedding below — it has a really pretty accordion pleated skirt with a tiny floral print that I love.

Bathroom update: drywall is hung and Ty is starting to mud & sand this weekend! Then I really need to go buy all of our tile. I don’t think either of us anticipated this bathroom getting finished closer to a year from when we first tore it out! Time has been flying since Caroline was born. We contemplated hiring it out just to get it finished, but now we are close enough to getting some of the big rocks in place that we’re going to hit it hard and hopefully get it finished before school starts. I just keep reminding myself that it will be beautiful once it’s finished!

Tyler had his birthday at the beginning of the month and we celebrated by getting his first tattoo and it was so fun. He’d been wanting one for a long time and we decided at lunch to find a place to get one, walked in and 20 minutes later it was finished! Lately we’ve been talking about all the things we hope to eventually do. I sometimes feel as though now that we have kids our “window has closed” for some of those things, but I’m trying to change my mentality and view it as an opportunity to teach and experience adventure alongside them. Here’s to more (slightly less relaxing) new experiences!

This week I’ve been working on organizing the blog, updating the shop our home page, Virtual Design info and even added a new page with current styling favorites that I will update week to week! You can check out all of the new links below.

Love this! Especially the part about “our window being closed” with kids. ❤️ It’s never closed! There is a latch…and you can open it!🥰

This is probably the prettiest room in our house. This is probably the prettiest room in our house. And I *may* or may not sit in here sometimes to hide for a moment of peace 😅

I rearranged the back patio a bit and I’m loving how it feels. Just a little reminder that it doesn’t take big bucks or an overhaul for something to feel fresh again!

There is a beauty and ease that comes with life by There is a beauty and ease that comes with life by the sea, whether it be on northern or southern shores. Seashells are a quintessential beauty that are worn by living creatures, eventually discarded for us to enjoy or broken down to become one with the earth. They’re a reminder of the beauty of life and how powerful nature can be. And because of that, I think they’re a perfect addition to any room – no matter where you live!

We started planning and renovating this space abou We started planning and renovating this space about two years ago and I have a few takeaways now that we’ve lived with it:
- so glad we fit as much shelving into this space as possible
- storing our microwave in here is 👌
- I toyed with the idea of adding an ice maker in here…kinda wish I would have
- the wallpaper was the best splurge
- removing walls isn’t always the answer (we split a hallway in two to create this space)

You can read all about this project on the blog! Link in bio 🫶
