Did you get a chance to see our Holiday Home Tour? I shared a photo tour of our home all dressed up for Christmas. I’m answering source questions in the comments of the post, so be sure to drop yours there!

The console wall in the dining room has been blank for quite some time so this week I grabbed a canvas that I already had, painted a fresh white background and then started adding layers with leftover sample paint, water colors and pencil. I really like messing around with abstract art – it’s a fun, therapeutic exercise in creativity and doesn’t have to cost a thing. I shared a quick video on how I did it so you can see just how simple it is, and hope to convince you to try it out yourself!

Speaking of blank spots in the dining room, I had to move the willow tree outside for the winter and have been wanting a little vignette in this corner. Since the room already is full of table-type pieces of furniture I thought maybe a new form would feel nice, so I picked up this little ottoman from Target to try out. I think with a few stacked pieces of art this could be a cute little corner – plus the ottoman doubles as extra seating & can be moved around the house as needed.

Every year I admire the gingerbread houses House of Jade uses for their Christmas decor so my mom & sis-in-law are getting together today to try our hand at our own. I’ve made a few in previous years for the kids, but I’m excited to make one thats just for looking pretty. I found a large cake stand + cloche to set it on so I’m really excited for that. ‘Tis the season for all the holiday baking & crafting and I’m here for it!

Happy Friday!
