I’m a devoted coffee drinker and I have my favorite mug that I always reach for — which is actually handmade by my mom! I love that it was made by her, just for me, and there isn’t another one exactly like it. You can shop her Etsy shop below plus a handful of other options that would make great go-to mugs:

LATELY

I shared on Instagram this week how I am trying to decide what to do with the woodwork between our two living rooms. For awhile I’ve thought about removing all the extra trim work, exposing the original pillars between the two rooms. But since painting the tv room Storm Cloud Gray by Benjamin Moore, I think creating more of a separation between the two rooms may feel more appropriate. I am probably still in the minority on this one but I actually prefer a more traditional floor plan that has more clearly defined spaces (more walls). If this house has taught me one thing it’s that good design is much more about considering what makes the most sense for that particular house and how it’s lived in. Design may still be riding the wave of removing interior walls to create open floor plans but in time I think we will begin to shift toward more defined spaces again: cozier living spaces, dine-in kitchens, formal dining rooms — and walls that are not all the same color!

Well, third time’s a charm – or I at least hope so! The block print fabric I ordered awhile ago is in the mail and arriving sometime this week. After quite a bit of back and forth on getting the color just right I’m so anxious to see if this fabric lives up to the hype. If it does, I can’t wait to make drapery out of it for the dining room!

It’s officially springtime in Ohio so we’ve been living with our windows open and scheming our outdoor projects for the year! Once some of the April rain passes I’m so excited to get our patio furniture out for the summer. I’ve also been getting quite a few patio design requests lately, which has me sourcing lots of cute outdoor styling pieces. I’ve linked some of my favorites below!

He was in need of a nice, flat weave rug (because Legos) and I was really excited to get this Henley rug by @loloirugs x @joannagaines @magnolia from their latest collab. I have these rugs all over my house because I seriously love them and they wear so well! More to come on this little room of his.

Uncover the back patio with me! After days of rain Uncover the back patio with me! After days of rain it’s time to let the furniture breathe a bit and open everything up to the sun. With part of our patio being pea gravel, the easiest way to get loose stones back where they belong is with our leaf blower - we recently topped it off with more gravel so it’s looking extra plush lately. You will find me here tonight pretending that it’s already the weekend 🥂

I rearranged the back patio a bit and I’m loving how it feels. Just a little reminder that it doesn’t take big bucks or an overhaul for something to feel fresh again!
