Friday Focus: April 14

design by Heidi Caillier

I’ve had our dining room on my mind. I really want to get the room to a place where it feels more “finished” (although I will never commit to a room being set in stone). I painted the walls a few months ago and still love the color – Benjamin Moore Woodacres – but haven’t made much progress on the finishes. I did commit to some drapery and am on the hunt for a light that will really make the room. I’m consistently drawn to more modern, statement-making lighting, and I think the dining room could really use a punch of something more interesting. I have been gathering ideas as I come across them and have found so many great lights that I’ve bookmarked for later use either in our home or in a client project:

lately

I found some great drapery panels for the dining room on TJ Maxx online — I am really impressed by the quality of them (linen, fully lined) but they don’t have pleating tape at the top. I’m sewing some pleating tape to the top of these and will do my pleat trick like I did for the living room curtains, but in a different style.

HOME THEOLOGY SHOP

I’m so excited for the shop launch next week and to finally share all of the pieces I’ve been working on with Linda Renee Pottery! This has been a good learning experience on what it takes to get an e-commerce site up and running and I’ve actually really enjoyed the process. And creating custom, one-of-a-kind pieces has been a lot of fun + allowed me to use my creative side in different way. There are limited quantities for the shop launch, so be sure you’re on our email list to be the first to know when the pieces go live!

style

I am fully ready for summer weather and last week ordereard a few things from the J.Crew sale that I’m looking forward to wearing once those warmer days hit. Here’s what I ordered + what else caught my eye:

food

This weekend we’ll be celebrating Easter with our families, which also means lots of good food. Our friend shared this recipe with us and I can’t wait to enjoy some of these yummy, salty-sweet cookies:

Happy Friday!
