A few weeks back, we photographed new pottery for Linda Renee Pottery, my mom’s pottery business. We set a Thanksgiving table to showcase her work & it turned out so gorgeous. For Christmas I like to let greenery shine against a neutral backdrop, so for Thanksgiving, we opted for a more moody, saturated palette and I think it worked perfectly. And looking through these photos is making me miss my dark dining room walls a just little bit (RIP).
We haven’t always dressed the table up for special occasions, but I think from now on I will insist on it–it feels so special to pull out special dishes, make a beautiful floral arrangement and enjoy food together at a table that invites you to sit & stay awhile.
All of the dishes we used are from her own pottery line, and the table linens & serving utensils are mostly from H&M home. Their online selection of home decor items is so good and reasonably priced, just like their clothing (below are links for all of the pottery, table linens & decor so you can recreate something similar for yourself next week on the big day).
I’m really loving the warm tone of terra-cotta lately–it feels like a neutral while still being interesting.
These leather wrapped serving utensils are my favorite.
This view makes me miss the moody feel this room had (but I don’t miss it feeling so dark in the middle of the shortest days of the year!)
Isn’t this jade colored bowl just gorgeous?!
This has me so excited for the big meal next week & scheming for Christmas. How do you like to make your holiday meals feel extra-special?
